Blizzard of 2013

We survived the Blizzard of 2013.  School and work were called off on Friday in anticipation of the storm.  I went out at about 9:00 am to get some before pictures.

Everything looked calm most of the day.

I went back out around 1:00 to check things out and pick up a couple of things.

At 3:30 the whole family headed out to see what was going on.  There was 3 or 4 inches on the ground, the wind was howling and it was cold.

My son and I took the dog out at 8:30 pm.  The conditions outside had deteriorated considerably by then.

It’s Really cold Out Here. Are you Sure This is Where I Go?

The Storm howled outside the windows all night long.  When we got up, what we could see out the windows from our 4th floor unit didn’t look too bad.  Our thermometer read 10 degrees and the wind was still blowing, so we got all bundled up to check out the neighborhood.

We played in the snow until we got too cold and then it was back home for hot chocolate and eggs.   Once we warmed up and our clothes were dry, we grabbed the sleds to go sledding down the stairs at the Gassy Playground on Prince Street.  Sledding down stairs seems like one of those things you only do in places like Downtown Boston.

All and all the Blizzard of 2013 turned out great for us.  I hope it was fun for you too.
